The problem I have with reading is that when I actually sit down to read for a few minutes, I am asleep after about five pages. Life with four kids, a job (or two or three), and medication side effects will do that to a person.
But, I am extremely grateful for the five pages that I get in here and there; especially when the words on those pages are so completely wonderful. I am in the middle of three outstanding books right now. I want to share some of the gems I have come across in my reading, but I will do one book at a time.
The Miracle of Forgiveness
by Spencer W. Kimball
This book has been on my to-read list for a while and I just haven't quite been ready for it, until now. I am finding so many wonderful nuggets of wisdom on each and every page. Here are two that have latched onto my brain and won't let go.
"There is never a day in any man's life when repentance is not essential to his well-being and eternal progress."
"Every person is subject to error if he is not always watchful, for victory over Satan is attained only by constant vigilance."
That's good stuff.
I can't wait to feast on more of these words and I find myself craving time to sit down and read more.
I promise I won't wait too long though.
