I can tell that it is getting to the end of the semester because I am d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g...especially when it comes to wanting to spend any more time at the computer after I am done with all of my school work.
That is why my blog posts have been kind of few and far between. Sorry to all 10 of my readers. I hope that it hasn't affected your lives too much. Lol.
It is hard to believe that I am almost one semester down. Who knows how many more I will have to go to get my Bachelor's Degree? I am starting from square one and am not planning on taking a full load any time soon. That means that I will probably graduate with my Bachelor's when Ellie (my 10-year old) is graduating with hers, but that's okay! It's not a sprint, it's a marathon, right?
(Why am I using a running analogy? I don't like running...)
From my Religion Class:
In the Introduction of the Book of Mormon it says this...
"The crowning event recorded in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ among the Nephites soon after his resurrection. It puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come." [i]
"What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heaven and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." -D&C 1:38
"We would do well to investigate what the Lord has revealed to His prophets." -Kevin R. Duncan
From my General Studies class:
*We are the ones who are responsible for our own spiritual & temporal well-being.
*We are encouraged to be self-reliant in many different areas of our lives: education, health, employment, finances, home storage, and spiritual.
*Self-reliance is not the end, but a means to an end.
"The development of our spiritual nature should concern us most. Spirituality is the highest acquisition of the soul, the divine in man...It is the consciousness of victory over self and of communion with the infinite. It is spirituality alone which really gives one the best in life." -David O. McKay
*Working increases your sense of self-worth.
*Learning to work begins at home.
*By working, we sustain and enrich life.
*Work builds and refines character, creates beauty, and is the instrument of our service to one another and to God.
