"Oh man! Is she going to start going on again about her church? Does she ever stop talking about that?"
My answers to those questions...Yes, I am going to say something about the gospel of Jesus Christ and no, I will never stop talking about it. Everything that I am is because of my Savior. I would never want to live life without His presence in it.
I want to share with you some words from a living apostle of our Savior, Jesus Christ. When Christ walked upon the earth, He had apostles with Him. I testify to you that He also has apostles who live among us today. One of those apostles is Elder David A. Bednar. He gave a talk in the last General Conference of our church that really stood out to me. He directed his words to individuals who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love the question that he started with.
"Why are Latter-day Saints so eager to tell me about what they believe and to invite me to learn about their church?"
Then he proceeded to share some wonderful reasons why we "Mormons" love to talk about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In Matthew 28:19-20 it says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen" Words from the Savior himself. It's our job as disciples of Christ to teach others about Him.
*"When we invite you to attend church with us or to learn with the full-time missionaries, we are not trying to sell you a product....we are not seeking simply to increase the numerical size of the Church."
I do not get some sort of award or bonus if I share the gospel with someone. I am not driven to share the gospel of Christ for any other reason than, I love Him. I know what He has done for me in my life, and I want others to have that same peace and happiness for themselves.
*"...we are not attempting to coerce you to believe as we do. We are inviting you to hear the restored truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ so you can study, ponder, pray, and come to know for yourself if the things we are sharing with you are true."
I like to say that when I share the gospel, I am not trying to take anything away from the faith that you already have. I am only giving you something that will add to it.
He closed the talk with his testimony; his apostolic witness of the Savior.
"As one of the Lord's Apostles, and with all of the energy of my soul, I bear witness of his divinity and reality. And I invite you to 'come and see'..."
And now I leave you with mine. I also invite you to "come and see". I invite you to read the Book of Mormon with an open heart and mind. I invite you to ask God if the Book of Mormon is true; if Jesus Christ is really your Savior. Bring your faith, your traditions, your life experiences and add to them. The Lord always needs people to help Him and be His hands here on earth.
