So today, I wanted to choose a song that just makes me happy. No, it won't be a cure for deep sadness or sorrow. No, it won't take away the pain that is felt from the trials that you may be enduring. But what it can do is make you smile. And as my favorite Elf says,
Today's song is performed by one of my favorite singers of all time. Mr. Michael Bublé. And speaking of deep sorrow, I know that he and his family are experiencing sorrow with the recent news that his 3-year old son has been diagnosed with cancer. Heart. Breaking. Now. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and with all of those parents who are dealing with the illness of a child. It's truly one of the my worst nightmares as a parent. But with any sorrow can come great miracles and tender mercies. You just have to look for them. I promise, they are there.
Hopefully this song will make you smile today if you are feeling sad, lonely, or ready to throw in the towel.
Just remember, something as simple as a smile can change the outlook of your entire day.

#LIGHTtheWORLD Day 2
Are you ready for Day 2 of Lighting the World through service? I love the focus of today.
"Jesus Honored is Parents and So Can You"
I just want to take a minute here to recognize my parents. They are such a blessing to me. I know that I chose them to be my parents before we came to this earth. I learned that in my Patriarchal blessing. (Click here to learn what a Patriarchal blessing is.) They are such wonderful examples to me of love and service. They have always been there for me and I love them so very much.
Aren't we just the cutest things you ever did see? :) My mom made these incredible birthday cakes every year. I have not inherited that talent from her, but I am so grateful to know that she cared for me so much that she spent hours making these amazing cakes. I mean, come on? It's Burt and Ernie and Big Bird! That's cool!
They offered nothing but genuine support when after only dating Mark for about 3 weeks, I called them and said, "Guess what? I'm getting married! What do you think?" I remember my mom saying something like, "Well, I'm not sure what to think since I haven't met him yet." Oops. Our bad. Note to self: Don't get engaged before asking the bride's parents (especially her father) if that is okay. We were just excited, I guess. But even though they had not met him, they knew that they had taught me how to recognize the spirit and because of their teachings, I had followed those promptings and knew that Mark and I should be married for time and all eternity. Their guidance is a huge part of who I am today. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father blessed me with these two special people to raise me, love me, and support me.
Love you Mom and Dad! Forever and always.
I am loving my second chance at life.
