Not only did the Holy Ghost teach me things about the Savior and His Atonement, but I really felt the Atonement working in my life this week.
I should study the Atonement every week.
What was the difference?
Why was this week any different than any other week? I strive very hard to keep Jesus in my every thought because I know that when I do that, I have no need to fear or worry. But then life gets in the way and I get distracted and my thoughts about the Savior fly out the window as I give in to temptation and choose other things to worship. Netflix, for example, or spending too much time cruising the Internet.
But this week...this week was different. Because I was reading and pondering about the Savior nearly every moment that I wasn't fulfilling mom/teacher/wife/writer responsibilities, I wasn't even tempted to give in to those distractions. That's not to say that I didn't watch TV at all or look on Facebook/Instagram, but they weren't my "time fillers" this week. They were my "winding down before bed for a few minutes" activities.
I also noticed that when hard things happened, I was able to take them in stride. I was also able to more fully appreciate the workings of God in my life that happen every. single. day.
Yes, I should really study the Atonement every week.
