Hello! I am Desirae and I welcome you to my website! If you are a follower of my family blog, I thank you for continuing with me on my journey as we cross new frontiers in the land of a real, live website. If you are new here and find yourself wondering who I am and what my story is, let me fill you in...
My Story in a Nutshell
*I am a wife to an amazing husband who supports me in all of my craziness.
*I am the mother to 4 beautiful, strong, and super cool kiddos who keep me hopping. I live in my car most days as I cart them from one activity to the next.
*I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in 2011 and have spent the following years undergoing treatments, surgeries, recoveries, mental breakdowns, and everything else that comes along with a cancer diagnosis.
*I also have another disease- my crafting disease- that sometimes makes it impossible for me to function normally. My brain races with idea after idea until I just have to sit in a corner and find my happy place.
*I am a pianist, vocalist, and wanna-be performer. Music soothes my soul, calms my crazies, and has helped me through the most difficult times in my life.
*I am an accidental author. When I began my journey with cancer, I also began a journey in blogging, which eventually led to writing my memoir, One Day at a Time: My Journey with Cancer. Both journeys have been full of twists and turns, happiness and heartache, and have made me the person that I am today.
My goal for this website is to continue to share the things that I learn as I continue my journey in the land after cancer and to also share my love and testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
For those of you who have not been touched by cancer's ugliness, please stick around anyway!
I really believe that everyone has "cancer". When you think of cancer in terms of a hardship or sorrow in your life, then we all fall into that category. I hope that my words will be able to bring comfort, to uplift and inspire, and to bring peace to those who take the time to read them.
Thank you for being here.
